Before I get into this article, sorry for the lack of posts over the last couple of months. I’ve been incredibly busy and with summer ending and the days beginning to get shorter, my motivation on an evening and weekend took a hit. However, I’m back to blogging closing out an incredible summer we’ve had on The British Gent with this review of the Thomas & Evans No1 drink.
The Thomas & Evans No1 was created to satisfy non-alcoholic drinkers a refreshing and aromatic drink. Its a sparkling water based drink, revealing flavours and green fruits, citrus peel and botanicals. It contains over 20 ingredients including silver birch charcoal filtered green fruit juices and steamed distilled botanicals. This unlocks a variety of aromas including apple, elderflower, citrus peel and oak tincture.
The inspiration behind Thomas & Evans stems from the namesakes of this innovation and their story was uncovered in the Britvic archives. Mr William Thomas and Mr William Evans, both business partners in the 1880s were inspired by the growing temperance movement of the time and prospered by making drinks to sell in public houses as non-alcoholic alternatives.
The Thomas & Evans No1 has been created by WiseHead Productions, a new business backed by Britvic and setup to create drinks for adults who seek exceptional drinking experiences. Ounal Bailey, co-founder of WiseHead Products spearheaded the development of the Thomas & Evans No1 comments:
“I feel passionately that non-drinkers at social occasions should enjoy exceptional drinks that are creatively crafted. We’ve carefully selected the ingredients to create T&E No.1, a drink that is refreshing yet with a depth of flavour that will delight even the most discerning palates.”
As I’m not a huge drinker myself, I really enjoyed Thomas & Evans No1. I love citrus flavoured drinks and the flavours which cleansed the palette were certainly more high quality and sophisticated than other drinks on the market. Thomas & Evans No1 is available in a 330ml bottle, is fantastic chilled and available to buy at Harvey Nichols, London or online.
If you do decide to buy a bottle for yourself or your non-alcoholic drinking buddy, please check out the recipe below crafted by the Thomas & Evans family and let me know what you think in the comments:
